Google is bringing generative AI features to Workplace.

Looks useful—much better showing than when they revealed Bard.

When this type of content generation is normalized, I wonder if those who can skillfully edit it will separate themselves in the workplace from those who use it as-is. It could become a signal that the person is detail oriented, good at managing their time, or similar. Perhaps gossip amongst coworkers will start to include questions like “do you think they made that doc from scratch?” or “I think [person] hand wrote that pitch.” Generated content can be sniffed out—for now—if you scrutinize it but maybe its recognizable quirks will dissolve as the technology gets better.
